Pastel on La Carte
 
This piece won 3rd place in the member category at the 'All About Pastel' International Juried Exhibition hosted by the Southeastern Pastel society. During my first visit to Edisto, South Carolina, my friends and I were invited to a dinner party at a local painter's home and off her back proch, this scene stopped me in my tracks.  The distant marshland and ocean was perfectly framed by a centeries-old twisted oak.
